"My father's father used to tell us this story, always the same one, about this blackened tower deep in the north, and the locked doors he found at it's top. Even when he lost his mind, he still held on to that memory, like there was something important hidden within it, something he'd never quite figured out himself, but had remained buried in there, gnawing at the back of his mind ever since."
You will wake up in a world that's been built upon the graves of a thousand empires. A mausoleum that runs deep within the earth and far beyond the clouds of a starless sky. A world that marks it's steps with the ashes of each one of it's eras. Beware of the wolf, for it's hunger will consume you from within. Keep the darkness and it's dangerous secrets at bay. And don't let the cold snuff out the last embers of our age. For death has us surrounded, and she holds close the final answer to all your questions.
In the world of wyrdrock, magic is a tangible part of everything and everyone. Every action and reaction, every patch of grass and every whisp of wind harmonize with the Wyr and form it's currents.
Some people embrace the arcane and the onyric, wielding such forces to overcome the rules of their reality and achieve impossible feats. However amongst those, there are few alive whom trully understand it.
Many more fear it, and chose to remain unaware of it's influences, depositing their faith in the certainty of steel and stone to fend against the unknown.
Just past beyond the veil of the material, there lay the realms of the onyric. These realms draw the exact edge between what's real and what isn't. Here the material becomes undone into ideas and concepts that merge and collude with eachother, forming into maddening new constructs all together. It is said that many of this realm's inhavitants witnessed the birth of creation itself, and decided to build their own dominions at it's edges, where they remained unburdened by the rules imposed upon the lower realms.
Although many forms of otherworldly powers and creeds can be found through the world of Wyr, plenty of creatures have claimed the title of godhood over the years just to fall flat on their aspirations. Very few have truly achieved it over the years, and even then it is still clear these minor deities still answer to a superior power.
There is, undeniably, a greater pantheon still hidden in the shadows. Beings that in their truest form repressent the most fundamental aspects of our reality. A triunvirate of beings so ancient and alien they can barelly be comprehended by the common mind. Whatever their true purpose may be, whatever their intentions, it is clear these entities only heed by their own rules, and that they hold little to no regard for the lifes of the common mortal.
There are many clues hidden in plain sight, scattered, often meekly covered under a thin layer of dust and dirt.
All it takes is for a curious mind ready to scratch the surface and peel the rust, and the picture will begin to form behind the curtain.
If you want to find the whole truth, dear reader, you'll have to dig much, much deeper.
But beware, for witnesing the past is also a way to bring it back to life.
